Kursi National Park preserves the impressive remains of a monastery and a church from the Byzantine Period. According to the Christian tradition, this was the site of the “Miracle of the Swine” that is mentioned in the New Testament.
At the site, you can see the impressive archaeological remains, a mosaic floor, and an outstanding view of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) and the cliffs of the Golan.
The paths are paved, and accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, and one can visit here in the winter, too (without getting dirty).
Public transportation: There are public busses that reach Kursi Junction. For details, see the Golan Public Transportation website at www.golan.org.il/bus.
