On the afternoon of Yom Kippur in October of 1973, the armies of Egypt and Syria attacked Israel. In the Golan, despite being vastly outnumbered in forces, IDF soldiers showed great courage; by the end of the war, they overcame the Syrian army in the north.
October 2023 will mark 50 years since this war.
The Golan, which was the site of bitter fighting against the Syrians, today has 32 villages, flourishing agriculture, a wealth of nature, and a treasure-trove of tourist sites.
We invite you to come up to the Golan, visit the battlefields from the Yom Kippur War, hear the moving stories of the veteran soldiers, and take in the natural beauty and breathtaking scenery of the Golan.
